Day 6: Take Hold of Your Peace
Day 6: Take Hold of Your Peace
Scripture:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
—John 14:27 (NIV)
Quote:
“Fear knocks. Peace answers.”

Reflection:
Jesus didn’t leave you empty-handed when He ascended to Heaven. He left you a divine gift: His very own peace. This peace is unlike anything the world can offer. The world tries to manufacture peace through distractions, entertainment, or substances that numb the pain—but it can never truly solve the problem. The world masks the storm. Jesus calms it. When Jesus said, “My peace I give you,” He was offering something eternal, powerful, and completely independent of external circumstances. His peace doesn’t require the storm to stop. His peace anchors you so deeply in His presence that even when everything around you shakes, you stay steady. Jesus also made something else clear: you have a choice. When He said, “Do not let your heart be troubled,” He revealed that you are not a prisoner to fear, panic, or anxiety. You have the God-given authority to disallow fear from ruling inside you. You don’t have to allow your emotions to spiral. You don’t have to allow your mind to be hijacked by worry. You don’t have to allow fear to dominate your inner world. Today, you have the power to make a divine decision: I will not allow a troubled heart. I will not allow fear to rule me. I take hold of the peace Jesus purchased for me. Peace is not passive—it must be actively received and protected.
Open your mouth and declare:
“I refuse fear. I refuse anxiety. I take peace. I let peace have full rule over my heart today!”
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You that You have already given me Your peace. I do not have to earn it; I simply receive it by faith. Today, I make a choice. I refuse to let my heart be troubled. I refuse to let fear reign. I reject the counterfeit peace the world offers, and I take hold of the supernatural peace You freely give. Thank You for anchoring me today in Your unstoppable, victorious peace! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
