Peace in the Storm Day 1 Peace is a Gift - Week 1 The Foundation
Peace in the Storm (40-day Devotional)
Week 1 The Foundation
Introduction: The Foundation of Supernatural Peace
Welcome to Week 1! These first seven days are all about laying the unshakable foundation of supernatural peace in your life. God’s peace is not a temporary escape or a fragile feeling—it’s a divine gift, a spiritual force, and a daily weapon you are called to walk in. This week, you will discover that peace is already yours, purchased by Jesus and delivered to your heart through the Holy Spirit. You will learn that you were never created to live trapped in fear, stress, or anxiety—you were designed by God to live anchored in peace, no matter what storms come your way.
As you move through each day, remember this powerful truth: Peace doesn’t happen by accident—it happens by decision. You have the authority to “let not” your heart be troubled and to disallow fear from ruling your mind. This week, you will begin taking practical steps to shift from surviving storms to mastering themwith God’s promises. Get ready to lay a foundation that will hold you steady for the rest of your life. Peace is not a feeling you visit—peace is the place you live.
Let’s begin!
Day 1: Peace Is a Gift—Make Room for It
Scripture:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” —John 14:27 (NIV)
Quote:
“Your job is to make room in your situation for peace to land.”
— Dr. Daniel LeBlanc
Reflection:
You don’t have to chase after peace like it’s something far away. Jesus already handed it to you—a gift, sealed in His love, delivered straight to your heart. Right now, peace is yours. But here’s the secret: peace needs a place to land. As my wife so wisely says, “Peace has to have a place to land.” If your heart is crowded with fear, stress, and worry, there’s no room for peace to settle. Today is your moment to make the divine exchange: lay down your worry, your stress, your fear—and open your heart wide to receive His peace. Peace doesn’t come by accident—it comes by invitation. You don’t have to live storm-tossed inside. Jesus didn’t leave you to fend for yourself. He left you His very own peace—perfect, powerful, unstoppable. All you have to do is receive it.
Today, let your heart be the landing strip for His supernatural peace.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
I don’t have to search for peace—you already gave it to me! Today, I choose to make room. I lay down my worry. I give up fear. I surrender my anxiety. I open my heart wide so that Your peace has a place to land in me. Thank You for this incredible gift. I receive it by faith today! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
