Day 23 How to Stay in the Father’s Love Zone Part 2

Day 23: How to Stay in the Father’s Love Zone – Part 2
“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”Jude 1:21 (NKJV)

Abiding in God’s love is the key to walking in daily victory. —Dr. Daniel LeBlanc

Staying in the Father’s Love Zone is a daily decision—a sacred invitation to remain close to the One whose love never changes. God's love is steadfast and unwavering, but our experience of it can shift depending on our posture and priorities. That’s why Jude gives us this tender instruction: “Keep yourselves in the love of God.” It reminds us that while God never moves, we sometimes drift.

There’s an old story that illustrates this truth beautifully. A husband and wife were driving together in an old pickup truck with a bench seat. When they were first married, the wife would sit snuggled up close to her husband as he drove. But over time, she had gradually moved farther away until she was now seated by the passenger-side door. One quiet afternoon, as they were driving along a country road, she looked over at him and said, “You know, we used to be close. What happened to us?” Without looking away from the road, the husband replied gently, “I haven’t moved.”

This is often how it is with us and God. When we feel distant, disconnected, or numb, it's not because He has withdrawn—it's because we've shifted. Maybe we’ve allowed the noise of life, the weight of distractions, or the sting of disappointment to nudge us away. But the Father's position never changes. His love remains right where it's always been—steady, present, and inviting.

To stay in the Love Zone, we must be intentional about drawing near to Him each day. That means setting aside time for prayer not just as a duty, but as a delight. It means opening our hearts to Scripture, allowing His words to abide in us and shape our thinking. It means cultivating gratitude, remembering His mercy, and surrendering our own striving. As we do, we return to the seat right next to Him, resting in the comfort of His unchanging love.

So today, ask yourself: Have I moved? If I feel distant from God, what has shifted in my heart, habits, or focus? How can I return to closeness with the One who never left?

Prayer:
Father, thank You that You never move away from me. When I feel distant, remind me that Your love is constant and faithful. Help me to return to You—not just with my words, but with my whole heart. I choose to draw near, to stay close, and to rest again in the warmth of Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
